You Need the Right Fit

To prepare for this post I searched types of lingerie and I was surprised by how much I found. I'd heard of nighty, babydoll, corset, negligee and of course the bra/panty combination. However, that is just a small sampling of what falls under the term lingerie. After reading through the different terms and descriptions I learned I was calling what I thought was a babydoll a negligee and cheeky underwear boy shorts! These terms are very similar to each other so don't be too embarrassed if you are as confused as I was.

Most bodies can wear whatever they want. I'm not going to stay if you have a round stomach to ONLY wear corsets or tops that cover the problem area because you might be okay with it showing. You might like to show what the world would deem your imperfections  What is important in whatever you wear, not just lingerie, is to make sure it has the proper fit.

If you don't know your bra size I would suggest going to your nearest Victoria's Secret and getting measured. I would also suggest going to multiple people in the store to get measured. I have also heard that VS has a different measurement system than other stores. You can always go go to the lingerie section of Nordstrom, Macy's, JC Penny or Dillards (Any department store) to get measured. Whenever I get a new bra I get measured first, even if I got a bra at another store recently. After getting measured TRY THEM ON! Every bra fits differently. Don't just assume because it's a 38 C that it will fit like the last 38 C you had. It's a conspiracy! Just kidding but really every bra has a different fit on the band, straps and cups. Make sure the bra you are wearing is right for you.

As for panties it's a little more complicated. Unfortunately the panty companies are also forming a conspiracy against women. Every store, every style, every cut has a different fit. When you try on a pair of panties check yourself out from all angles. Check the waistband, make sure it's not giving you that unruly muffin top. Check the legs and make sure they aren't digging into your skin. At the same time you need to make sure the panties aren't going to fall off.

Sexy Tip of the Day

To make your shopping trip a little bit more fun, bring your significant other with you. Who doesn't like a sexy little tease in the store. If they can't accompany you then send them some quick pictures of yourself. This way they get a say in what you buy. To make it more interesting add a caption "thinking about wearing this for you. ;-)" Beware, don't just be a tease about these texts. Be prepared to give it up to him that evening. Add some real spice to your evening by wearing it when he gets home. Finish cooking dinner, setting the table or straighten the pillows on the couch, seeing you do these everyday tasks in your new sexy outfit will get him excited for the evening. Just make sure you turn the stove off before the evening gets too steamy.
